For information only

Universities and uni-assist calculate the binding grade with the official reference values (Nmax and Nmin) for your certificate, published by the ZAB in anabin. Your result can differ, for example when only certain subjects or years count.

The formula

X = 1 + 3 × (Nmax − Nd) / (Nmax − Nmin)

  • Nmax: best possible grade of your grading system
  • Nmin: lowest passing grade
  • Nd: your grade
  • The result is determined to one decimal place and is not rounded: 2.38 becomes 2.3.
