Scoring

  • Written exam 166 points (reading 48, language elements 22, listening 48, writing 48), oral exam 48 points, total 214.
  • A certificate requires at least 128 points in total and at least 60 % in both parts: 99 written points and 29 oral points.
  • Grades: 193–214 sehr gut, 172–192.5 gut, 151–171.5 befriedigend, 128–150.5 ausreichend, 0–127 nicht bestanden.

What this calculator does not do
  • Writing and speaking are marked by trained raters against telc criteria. Self-assessed points are only an estimate.

Recognition

  • RO-DT 2020 § 8 (2) (e): passing telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule exempts from the DSH/TestDaF requirement.
  • Do not confuse it with the general exam „telc Deutsch C1“, which is not listed in the RO-DT.
