In a C-test the first sentence stays complete; after that, the second half of every second word is missing. You need grammar, vocabulary and reading skills at the same time.

Complete the second half of each word. Capital letters and ä/ae, ö/oe, ü/ue, ß/ss are accepted either way.
Im Oktober habe ich mein Studium in Hamburg begonnen. Am Anf war al neu u ein biss chaotisch. I musste mi an d Universität einsch, ein Ko eröffnen u eine Woh suchen. Z Glück ha mir me Kommilitonen se geholfen. Inzwi kenne i die wicht Gebäude a dem Cam und finde mich gut zurecht. Am liebsten lerne ich in der Bibliothek, weil es dort ruhig ist. Am Wochenende treffe ich mich oft mit Freunden aus meinem Sprachkurs.
About this format
C-tests are a common format in language placement tests — the onSET online language test (opens in a new tab), for example, describes itself as a test in C-test format. The construction rule used here is the classic one: from the second sentence on, every second word loses its second half — for words with an odd number of letters the larger half is removed. One-letter words, numbers and names are skipped.
